For students of Construction and Interior Construction Trades like Masonry, Painting
Learning Outcomes
- Making sketches, plans and drawings and how to read technical documents and determine the material requirements
- Set up and secure workplaces, e.g. during on-site assembly
- Different types of wood and wood-based materials and how to process them manually or by machine
- Handle, adjust and maintain both hand and machine tools
- How to make fixtures, bodies or frames
- Conduct intermediate and final checks
- How to make frames and racks, how to assemble the individual components and how the products, e.g. doors, windows, stairs, furniture
- What surface treatment options are available, e.g. staining or colouring, and how to apply wood preservation measures
- Prepare the products for transport, what is important during assembly and disassembly on site and how to install insulation materials
The student learns/knows:

- Design and construction of products
- Planning and preparation of work processes
- Setting up, securing and clearing workstations
- Working and processing of wood, wood-based and other materials and semi-finished products
- Making simple products from wood
- Manufacture composite products from wood and wood-based materials
- Treatment and refinement of surfaces, maintenance of articles
- Setting up, operating and maintaining tools, equipment, machines, plants and devices
- Manufacture of parts and assembly of products
- Implementation of quality assurance measures
The student develops their understanding of:
Learning outcomes common to all professions
- Health and safety at work - observes health and safety rules and SOPs
- Professionally oriented foreign language - improved ability to use a foreign language (English/German) in the execution of tasks and the ability to formulate short and comprehensible statements to communicate in the workplace
- Personal and social competences - develops a culturally and ethically sound approach to working with others in a company, increased creativity and consistency in their actions, copes with stress, responsibility and assigned tasks
- Organisation of work in small teams - increased ability to communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues, organise work in a team
VITALIS Internships
- All internships according to the Dual vocational training in Germany and the principles of ECVET
- Our internships take place in small groups under the guidance of qualified and experienced staff
- The internships are scaleable - depending to the knowledge of participants from different classes
- According to the length of stay the internships can be customized and combined
- Our internships can be funded by Erasmus programme - open for all member states of the European Union
