The first information found about Gut Wehlitz was written down in 1436 but the former manor is even older. Between 919 and 936 the region around Wehlitz was owned by Heinrich 1st and one of his vassals settled down at Gut Wehlitz. Later, their farms changed into manors. The manor of Gut Wehlitz was the economical center of the region and now it is a center for European visitors.
